Just to clarify, its the the arrangements of the connections between the lamp holder and the switch that matter.

The previous owner had wired the pair of connectors intended for the switch to the lamp holder, and those for the lampholder to the switch.. Easy enough to do, I suppose, as the function appears to be normal. That is, the light in the glovebox turns on and off as apppropriate. What it did, however, was to prevent the immoblizer controller from seeing a voltage signal when the lamp was turned off.

An easy was to make sure you are correct is to make sure the spade connector with two wires crimped together is connected to the lamp holder. If you get that correct, everything else will fall into place.
