I also have Scoth Interior & exterior Mounting Tape. Very sticky though.

Thoughts?
I tried the poster tape...trust me...you need the exterior mounting tape for its thickness and adheisive qualities. the rings have a bit of space in there that requires a thicker tape. There is some space between the ring and dial edge but once installed with this tape, there is no visible space and the fit is perfect

It took all of 10 minutes to install these. I love how they work with the aluminum shifter & handbrake. Nice job Chris!
Cool interior!

Ok. Stupid question of the day: where does one put the tape. Around the outer edge of the ring, or on the bottom of the ring in contact with the glass? TIA

I have mine for a long time, and I put it at the bottom edge, not the part contacting the glass. Cut a VERY thin strip. If you put it at the top, it will create a gap between the ring and the gauge.

ditto, I cut very thin (in tape width) strip, used 4 per ring, put them at the bottom/middle inner edge of the ring. I'm sure I didn't get the rings all the way 'in' so they're flush with or contacting the glass, but they look good enough for me. In a couple cases (more the outer smaller gauges) the top of the ring edge protrudes just a hair 'taller' than the gauge outer bezel, but then I'm a DIY neophyte and screw up most everything I touch (there's a thread on light switch bulbs where I got so beaten up I lost my temper in response). But mine look good enough to me, certainly a big improvement especially when one has aluminum on the handbrake or shift lever.

I don't know how some folks can live with a pitted trunk hood...I would not be able to sleep at night.

Is anyone using these with white gauge faces? How do they look?
