At this point it may be more cost and labor efficient to get a crimping tool and buy the plug and fix it, instead of having to buy the whole ignition wire and disassemble the intake.

Guys,
In looking at the related photos I am seeking help on removing the primary (?) distributer cap that is the lower one. I have done a search and read Robin's original posting in Distributor cap/rotor R&R. I got the upper one done and as "Bozo" said I am now running on 1 1/2 plugs/cylinder...that guy is a riot!
Anyway, any tips before I strip out the lower screw of the lower distributor?

accessing the plug isn't too bad, there are maybe 2 of 12 that are harder to get to...., but removing the looms from the fan housing if you don't remove the varioram IS NOT FUN.
#1 on buying a crimp end and trying to repair existing wire first.
Mark Robinson might sell you one.

The Beru M3 threaded sleeve terminal ends are threaded and screw into the caps.
You can get them from either Porsche or Kingsborne.
Porsche part number: 911 609 310 00, $1.17 each from Sunset.
Beru part number: 0901300003
The downside is the cost of the crimping tool: $325 and worth every penny, I am sure. A rental loaner would be nice.
