Default Where does your clutch grab...

Just wondering where your clutches engage at? Mine seems to engage about 65% lift from the floor. I wish it was lower. Is there a way to change it?

Thanks

Right around 63.2% lift from the floor.

I'll go with 65%. Used to engage almost at the top, but a good clutch flush / bleed seemed to make a difference.

Assuming that everything is healthy, mechanically and hydraulically speaking, these are self-adjusting and as such, there is no way to change the engagement point.

Steve, question: Does this mean the clutch could at some time adjust itself to a point of becoming sentient and consequently enslave the human race?

Yes, those clutches manufactured at Skynet absolutely are at risk of taking over the car and its owner. Witness the recent problems with the Prius ...Skynet-made throttle-linkage. I've read, though, that new Chief Designer John Connor has taken over the Prius project. He is our hope.

Not my car, but one 993 turbo that had a sick clutch -- I hired a stunt clutch foot for the making of this video
