Okay, I'm in!
Okay, after two months of watching pretty much every 993 C2 coming on the market in the US, I found one right in my back yard in Austin, and took ownership of it today. My first P-Car!
Paid $35,500 - more than I would have liked, but I got to know the previous owner pretty well as well as the history of the car, and it sure beat having to fly somewhere to check out a car.
Oh - anyone want a 2006 BMW 325i / Arctic Metallic on Tan / 33,000 miles?
Pics (of the 993):
One of my first projects is to get black license plates (myplates.com in Texas):
- 1997 993 C2 Coupe
- Black on Black
- 27,000 miles
- Options:
- 159 Motor Sound Pkg
- 240 Version for countries with inferior fuel
- 329 Radio - ?
- 373 Left Sport Seat w/ Power Height Adjuster
- 374 Right Sport Seat w/ Power Height Adjuster
- 408 18" Technology Design Wheels [1996]
- 454 Automatic speed control
- 650 Sunroof
- C02 Equipped with catalytic converter
- X71 Aluminum Instrument Dials
- X97 Aluminium/leather shift ****
- X98 Aluminium/leather parking break handle

Congrats on that beautiful car! You live in the perfect place for that car. I think you got a good deal - especially since you found it in AUS.

Don't these people drive their cars? 2076 miles per year? Amazing find for the money. Congrats. I envy your situation in more ways than one.
Will you have another car as a daily driver or will this be your only car?
It's funny how many of us sell a much newer car (your 2006 for a 1997) to get a 13+ year old 993.
Cheers,
Steve R

(PSSSST>>>>) Hey Buddy (PSSST>>>)
If that is not a typo, and you bought a 27k mile 993 with hard back sport seats from an owner you became very comfortable with, you STOLE that car. I would go to be tonight feeling VERY good about your deal. Well bought. Will you come to Vegas with me?

I wouldn't kick myself over paying that for that car, if it's truly what you were looking for. Too much emphasis on buying something cheap for the sake of it being "a deal".
Kind of funny to hear you're unloading an '06 E90; that's my wife's car. Only yesterday did she realize that the Phoenix trip on Thursday will be with the C4S and not her car.........and I have to say the BMW kicks *** on a 993 for racking up the miles, hours on end.
