Default CD/iPod player

I am not an audiophile but putting cds in the unit in the trunk is just no fun. ANyone found something that is an easy install and can play both CDs and iPod?
Thanks

OK.thanks. I looked at some Alpine unit on line at Best Buy. Are these units plug and play. I hate to let some kid cut into the wiring of my 993. Adapters?

Adaptere are probably available from Crutchfield, or check Rod at Car Audio Innovations.

Check out Becker Autosound

170 North Fifth Street, Saddle Brook, NJ 07663

Phone: 201-773-0976 Fax: 201-368-3911

service@beckerautosound.com

The put a very small and discrete adapter in the faceplate of my CR-210 radio. I just plug in the IPOD and it plays. I had to send my unit in for repair anyway, so this was quite inexpensive. Great company.

An option might be to put all of your tunes on the ipod, buy a wireless ipod adoptor from Apple and play your music through the FM radio.

thanks for all the ideas. My 60 yo eyes have a hard time with Alpine and Pioneer ( I see fine in the distance, but not close up) I have an alpine in my Frontier and at night can't operate it tho I suppose if both my rigs had the same stereo my fingers would memorize the ops .
70T. I have been looking at the adapters as well.
My 1995 is a CR 1 and becker does not list the adapter for that unit, tho I have sent an email.
Thanks again for all the FB.

I use a CDR-220, it plays a single CD (didn't want to have a CD changer) and I also have an iPod cable connected to it which allows me to use my iPod.

I'm using a Pioneer DEHP88RS + iPod module in my daily beater...
Works absolutely fantastic although scrolling through 80GB of music is kinda slow'ish..

The Alpine iDa-.. something is much faster...
For the 993 i would probably not choose both for aesthetic reasons but instead have a serious look at the Becker Indianapolis +iPod kit

+1 on Alpine.

My unit lets me control and charge my iPod [stored in glove compartment] - with scrolling text, and it has a nifty system for searching that divides your music into 6 or 7 portions which makes it much easier to locate the right album, composer etc. Highly recommend it for iPod use.
