I had mine done at Clair in 2004. Of course they have been sold to Prime Motors or some such, but I think body shop is the same.
They all cooperate with insurance fine. You also definitely want OEM, built-in antenna being the main reason. Even though i much prefer PPG glass to Agla, it doesn't seem that 993 windshields are really available aftermarket.
I'll be doing mine sometime this spring, so I asked my local indie shop (Autobahn) who they would recommend - they said they sub it out to The Glass Guys in Beverly 978 922 9266. Again, I haven't done mine yet, and haven't even talked to these guys - but they will be the guys I call in a few weeks.
Another vote for Village Glassmith in Wellesley, MA. The owner is Don Cotton and he will come out to your place and do the installation. Although he hasn't done my p-car yet, every job I've ever done with him turned out impeccable (four windshields on various imports).
Highly recommended, the guy is a perfectionist and a gem to work with!
I decided to go with American Plate Glass. They do all the work for IRA Porsche and they close to home. The shop forman handles the Porsche work himself so I have to wait 2 weeks until he's available.
I'll let you guys know about how it turns out.
BTW, full coverage for OEM because insurance co.couldn't source aftermarket.
Mine never did squeak; I just had it replaced with aftermarket glass (including the antenna, hope it's harder than the soft factory glass, which was incredibly pitted). No squeaks now, either.
