Default Andreafication of wheel wells

With great zeal, I went at it today armed with xenit, simple green, brushes, rags and a desire to follow in the steps of the great eradicator of hidden dirt (he who need not be named). What I found was lots of the body color but not to the same degree as some of you who have done the same thing. I could distinctly see the ocean blue-ish color, but could also see some tannish color as well. I guess it could be the tint of the cosmoline or whatever the factory used peaking through. It looks better, but not as vibrant as I would have liked. Maybe I'll order a can of spray from someplace and go to town.
I only have one crappy cellphone shot. Is this what others found, or am I making much ado about nothing

Yup. You will need to paint to make it look like Mr. Clean's ride

I feel your pain pcarhombre. I too was inspired by our OCD-afflicted bretheren and spent three hours on just the left side Sunday with Xenit, plastic scraper and nylon, ss and brass brushes. Got lots of gunk off and in a few spots, there is some glossy black showing through. But, it doesn't look anything like the pics from others. In some places it feels clean, but it's almost white. don't have any pics now, will post later. Some of the old threads mentioned power washing with a 3000 psi gun. Maybe that's the secret? First, the weather was too bad to do this outside... besides I already had the car on jack stands (another project - painting my turbo twist track wheels graphite) in the garage. also, my power washer only does 1900 psi (I know, I'm a wimp!) and I'm more than a little reluctant to spray even that low pressure into some of those components. So, what's the verdict? Order a couple more rattle cans of Duplicolor?

Greg, it seems if we want the bling, We'll have to go the extra step. I don't have a pressure washer and of course it would involve putting her shoes on, moving the car outside and then taking them off again. I think I'll order a couple of cans and feel good knowing that while not on Mt. Brushmore with some of the others, I'll at least be near the top of the Poconos
Regards. Let me know what you decide.

You are an a-s This was before I put the liners back in. I did not use a rattle can. I used single stage paint w/an HVLP gun. It is just as easy to use a rattle can. I tend to get bored easily so I make things hard.
