DeoxIT the climate control unit?
My climate control unit kinda works but it seems that the contacts on some of the controls need some TLC.
I am thinking of removing and opening the unit and treating the contacts with the DeoxIT product. (not affiliated) From what I have read this product is probably one of the best contact cleaners out there. This product removes oxidation, lubricates and protects switches and controls.
Has anyone done or considered doing this? Am I better to get it refurbished?
Looking forward to your opinions.
Thanks.

Well I went with the DeoxIT treatment on the Climate Control and have to say that I ended up with some very positive results. The intermittent behavior is gone and the controls operate nice and smooth.
Thought I share.

I bought the stuff on eBay for about $20 including shipping. Do a search on "Hosa Deoxit D5". (Radio Shack doesn't sell "D5")
I also bought this radio removal tool from ZDMAK on the eBay site. This handy tool also has the keys to remove the Climate Control.
Once out - carefully pop the two dial and slider ***** and remove the two nuts on the dials and push the tabs on the top and bottom of the unit. The face plate should come off and the guts exposed. I liberally applied the spray to the dials and sliders and by moving them to spread the fluid on the contacts.
Simple job really.
