Default Solutions for cleaning fan

Well, I had a small list of things to get done over the winter that did not involve my mechanic (had enough of that already I still have 2 feet of snow down my driveway (235' long) and I can't even easily get down there to paint the calipers, dye seats, install Fister Sg 2's so I'm a hurting puppy. To make it worst, more snow later in the week. If and when I get down there, I'd also like to clean my nasty fan blades. Does anyone know the correct chemical/combo of chemicals that will work? Also how do I get the fan to spin if the belts are new and tight? BUmp the starter is the only thing I can come up with. Would love some of that good ole' Rlist guidance.
PS
Here is what I think of snow!

+1 on the Simple Green and one of those green scouring pads. If you can turn the fan by hand, make sure you turn it the correct way... the way it is turns when the motor is running. For the tight areas use an old toothbrush and Simple Green. You will want to wash this stuff off so make sure that yo do it on a day that will allow the water to dry and not freeze on the fan and the belts, etc... ask me how I know!

With E-brake on and trans in neutral, put a 24mm wrench on the end nut of the alternator shaft: push against the two small belts to assure grip against the pulleys, and turn the wrench clockwise ..... motor will turn - as will the fan.

Or you can take a 19mm offset wrench to the crank. That's what I do.

I have been looking for one for a while now. I don't quite have the real estate for the floor mounted unit. I have seen some bench mounted units on CL. Do you have an opinion regarding manufacturer/quality?

The one and only water-based degreaser that really works...

Swish FACTO AT30

Take it from someone who has owned chain drive motorcycles. We used it at the local flying club to clean the oily underbellies of aircraft.

Available from SWISH USA at 1-800-322-4222.

Initial cleaning yielded these results...

Bob,
I have been very pleased with this setup (cabinet / compressor), and have used it extensively over the past few months. The cabinet, gun, and all of the required consumables are made in the US. I've ordered additional media, nozzles, etc. and everything ships correctly and promptly. I found the price very reasonable for what's included.

One could easily delete the legs and fashion stout, wall-mounted brackets to win floor space and keep the cabinet at the desired height.

My Vet buddy down the road does cows for a living .... with a set of gloves like those: presumably the same blind, groping technique when the compressor is on?

FYI, I called and it's not available from Swish USA who referred me back to the Canada HQ. Do you also know if it's available in any size smaller than a PAIL?

Thanks.......ZP44
