Default STARBURST CRACK IN WINDSHIELD; SUGGESTIONS FOR QUICK FIX

Noticed a very small (less than 1/2") starburst type crack in the windshield of one of my 911's. I've read about those inexpensive repair kits but have have no idea if they even work. Anybody ever have any success in using one and if so what brand is best. If I have to, I will replace the windshield but would prefer to explore this option first. Thanks in advance.

I don't know about a kit but I believe auto glass shops do offer a cheap fix that works. Have you called your local glass shop?

Call in a glass pro. You'll get much better results than the kits you can buy at the parts store. I have used the latter and had decent luck with them but think that they are only suited for small chips and not star burst cracks.

I took my 911 to a glass shop for the same reason a few years back. The shop took about 30 minutes to have the windshield looking good as new. I think the cost was about $30.

Then that's what I will do next week and I'll post the results! Much thanks!

Deadhead, I strongly recommend you drive the car as little as possible before you get there. Cracks can propogate really quickly on the road.
