Found a local guy selling a pastel yellow 97 cab, black interior, manual transmission. It has 31K miles on it and they are asking $39K for it. The top looks new as it has been garaged the entire time. Only 2K miles put on it in the last 2 years. The car is originally from the west coast and had 2 previous owners. No damage of any kind, clear CarFax report. It looks mint and it passed state inspection where I live.
The color is rare, no doubt and I know cabs are not as popular as the coupes.
I am sensing it should be 35K? Or is this person on the button?

Pastel yellow may be rare however it is not necessarily desireable or popular. Pale yellow strikes me as a weak color for a 911 cabriolet.
If you like it, that's all that matters, however be careful about adding value for the rare color. Of course as these cars get older finding nice examples becomes more difficult so accepting a less than desireable color may be acceptable if everything else checks out.

I purschased my manual cab cab with full options in August 09 with 24,000 miles for much less. I do not think his price is way over the top but I think there are other low mileage 993s out there for less money. I decided on a low mileage car but looking back I should have bought something with more miles as I feel I am destroying the value every time I roll more miles on the odometer. JMHO

A truly mint car would be worth 39K if it had some of the expensive options already installed. Things like a high end suspension, upgraded brakes, limited slip differential, high end exhaust, high end wheels, golden rod, 3M expel bra work, high end stereo system, engine chip, etc. Especially, if he/she also gave you all the stock equipment with the car.
In other words -- a mint car in stock condition at 30K miles might be overpriced at $39K. A mint car at 30K miles with $20K in upgrades might be a screaming deal at $39K. It's all about what you get.

IMHO you need to determine (or you already have) what you want from a car. With the miles being low are you going to mod it or keep it original? Is it going to be driven frequently or a garage queen? Whatever your answer is find the car that you feel fits your wants and needs the best. I will say lower mile cars do command a higher price. Now there are people that have lower mile cars that got a good deal on them, but I would say that this is a rarity and not the norm. As far as the color again that is a personal preference. I do not mind Pastel Yellow, but I would not be hunting that color either. If this car is right for you and the price can be negotiated to an acceptable level buy it. At 35K you are not stealing the car, but you are not getting the shaft either. Good luck and whatever you buy enjoy the car they are great.

Don't let the miles and conditions blind you to the color. You better truly like/love Pastel Yellow. If not, walk away.
I too had the chance to buy a mint condition Pastel Yellow 993 Coupe from Holt Motorsports a few years back. I was so impressed with the condition of the car that I was telling myself that the color was fine. In the end I realized that I wanted Black, Silver or Speed Yellow and I was not going to settle no matter how nice this car was.
I am glad I waited.
If you really like the color then go get this car. You will regret it if you just settle on the color due to how nice it is overall.
2 cents

Check out this thread for a comprehensive list of values. There is a spreadsheet on the first post: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...pinslys-3.html
There is a black cab that transacted four months ago for $34k. Also stock but with 12k mi. I would say that rare as Pastel may be, it is a drawback and a strike against it on the basis of value. Seems like a very low $30k car to me.

Just out of curiosity, what if this car was in one of the more common colors such as silver, black, red or one of the bazillion blues that Porsche has. Would it make a difference in price?
I am just trying to understand how much impact the color might have on price?

I think you are fretting too much on the eventual re-sale of the car instead of what you want. If you like it, buy it. If it is truly in excellent condition for 39k, buy it. A few grand should not keep you from buying a car you really want and plan on keeping for years and years.
