Default Thank you to Rennlisters, my search continues

A big thank you to this board, specifically Harry and Chad for stopping at Truspeed and Dr. Mark for talking with me.

I'm passing on the car, too many issues.

Hergesheimers was top notch to deal with only charging me a fraction of the cost of a full PPI. They stopped their work to call me and see if I wanted to proceed.

Truspeed was easy to deal with but the car just wasn't what I was hoping for.

My search continues for a 993.

Thanks again everyone.

Tony

What were the issues, if I may ask?

I don't watch reality TV, but this has its appeal!

Accident, bondo, respray, hood didn't fit right.
Viscous clutch wasn't working, so technically a C2
Brand new transmission, don't know if that is good or bad.

Enough issues for me to stop the PPI and walk away.

Tony - you're looking for a 993?!?!? Does the LRQC know about this?

I hope you find one. Hopefully I contributed a little bit to your getting the 993 bug.

Eric, you and all the other audi clubbers are all bad influences. First a SC race car and now a 993 daily driver. Watch, I'll be buying your Turbo kit next!

Who is LRQC?

Default uhhhh...

wasn't this the well maintained -but hi mileage example that Truspeed was proud of(or something like that) to offer fro sale?

as a 993 shopper, that doesn't instill much confidence in them for me. Personally, if it was the 120k mileage silver C4, I'd say the ad misrepresented it considering THAT much was wrong with it.

good luck with your search

Default Truspeed autotrader quote

"Seller's Description and Comments
It's always a pleasure buying a car that has had the kind of care this car has had. It's had a valve job and clutch replacement done at about 95K miles. It has power seats and 17" Cup Wheels with Painted Crests. Take advantage of a great buy, this is a lot of car for the money".

I couldn't find the original thread where you mentioned the car, but I remember it as this one.

Time for Truspeed to retract some statements, or maybe fix the car, huh?

I am a bit surprised that Truspeed would want to be a reseller of a car that has the issues found during your PPI. One or two less than great examples might tarnish a reputation that that has taken years to build. After all, most of us believe that if it is a Truspeed car, it is likely a great 993 (with some minor things to fix). I guess a clue of a possible problem is seeing one of their 993s sellng for less than $30,000.

Another story to illustrate the importance of PPIs.
