Has anyone installed a temperature gauge to know the outside temperature and a compass to show the direction one is driving? It's a useful feature that I've seen on other cars.

Ambient temp sensor came standard on Tip and TT cars. For a retrofit, check out this article: http://p-car.com/diy/obc/

wow - that's a lot of work for the temperature. this one would be easier - and only $6 from amazon.

seriously, how about the rear view mirrors with the readout in it? I've thought about one of those, but not worth the trouble IMHO.

The On Board Computer has outside temperature (on cars so equipped)....
