Question A/C Oil Quantity Question?

I am running low on Freon, and instead of just recharging my system, I have decided to actually try and fix a couple leaks around the expansion valve.
(I am keeping my fingers crossed as far as the evaporator is concerned!)

I bought a new expansion valve, as well as a new dryer from Pelican. 3 cans of Dupont Freon, 8oz of PAG 46 with UV Dye from PepBoys. Some Gauges, and a cool Vacuum Pump from Harbor freight.
I also got O-rings from Sunset, before finding out that the Pepboys O-rings are identical:-(

I have a hard time understanding my 993 Manual. How much oil do I need to physically add to the system after I have replaced all the components?

40cc lost when the system is depressurized + how much for the valve? + how much for the new Dryer?

I am not planning on opening the compressor, unless somebody tells me otherwise.

Thanks,

I'm not sure I'd add any oil as most, if not all, is contained within the compressor.

Just my .02 cents - others may disagree.

Cheers,
Joe

I did more research and found the answer: 40cc for loss due to depressurized system + volume drawn out of old dryer + 10cc.
The expansion valve should not have much in it.
