There have benn a number of posts on this but Im finding that some of the subs have been discontinued.
The Blaupunkt ODSB 5000, Clarion SV somthing, and Pioneer.
Anything new in the audio world for compact, subwoofers that fit under the seat?

I looked for something last year and couldn't find anything locally except some giant units. I was very interested in the Blaupunkt sub. I ended up getting the Rod Birch subs and am happy with them. I doubt I would have been happy with the units small enough to fit on the rear floor.

I removed the rear seats and made panels that mount the 8" subs (at each seat location) and sealed to the body. I put in two air ports each and perf. aluminum over the speakers and under the new carpet. Smooth look and with a DAS roll bar, there is no rear seating.
I had the Rod Birch subs and they are good too.

Im not looking to go big with a stereo upgrade, Rob Birch subs or anything along those lines. I just want a better clarity with a little bass. Speakers, a small sub, ipod integration (have XM) and thats about it.

I added some nice JL 4x6s to the rear deck prior to buying the Rod Birch subs. They made a big improvement over just having the 6.5 door speakers. The amp, deck and door speakers were some top line components (from 1996).

JVC powered subwoofer CS-DA1 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...VC+CS-DA1.html with a built-in amp and remote volume control with auto boost toggle mounted under the streering column. The subwoof simply rests perfectly on the rear seat squab as if purpose tailored to fit and unplugs from the wiring loom if I need to remove it for any reason. And wow .... packs a wallop too. 1/2 Vol is more than enough for me.

I don't know if there has even been a sub that would fit under the seat of a 993, but the new Sound Ordinance from Crutchfield is certainly small.

Nothiing that I could find for under the seat, and I was after a simpler system than making up rear foot well speaker boxes to enhance the hifi with low volume base.

You might try Boss Audio. I beleive there was a thread here where somone was able to place one under their passenger seat with great results. The Bass900 or the Bass1500.

I've read in past threads on underseat amp installs that overall dimensions should be close to 53mm / 2.1", W: 166mm / 6.5”, L: 285 / 11.2”. When width approaches 7", height clearance is reduced as the unit rides up the radius of the sheet metal it's resting on, but at 6.5" there was still about .5" clearance. Looks like the Focal might work, but at $499, a tad spendy. Nice specs though .... http://signature.crutchfield.com/s_0...ubwoofer&ssi=0
