I got a box full of the factory binders with my car. I thought it was a nice extra at the time and didn't realize how much these go for. Finding the right section and page can be tricky with these manuals.

...and probably damn-near impossible with the illegal digital versions, which you also need to print out and store at some point (binders), unless your wifi works in the garage.

matt777, could you have a look see in your set for the OBD II details?

I looked throughly - through my 993 set and no soap. Mine's a MY '98 and I'd ordered the manuals in late May of '97 - I clearly recall the Porsche dealership had to make a special order. Dumb sheeit logic leads me to believe the OBDII detail should have been included... Go figure.

The CD version of this is terrible quality and is not searchable...it is not a real Shop Manual on CD but a xerox photocopy of a manual.

The Electrical Guides are awful too. The PDF found on the CD is actually available as a download all over the 'net...

Can someone actually confirm that the OBDII section was ever part of the service manuals? I keep seeing TSBs dealing with OBDII issues but no reference to the manuals. I'm beginning to think that it was never released officially. Thoughts?

Wouldn't it be included in "Section 8 Diagnosis"?

Section 8 only has OBDI on the sets that I've seen.

Mine does not have an OBDII section. Much of the manual says it was "Printed in Germany" with dates ranging anywhere from 1993 - 1997 but no OBDII section. I do however have a few pdf files that look to be in the same format as the pgs. in the manual, I'll see if I can attach them here, they may be too big. Pg designations are B-1 thru B-4. Somewhere along the line I have also acquired a section G-1 thru G-7 which also deals with On-Board Diags.

Pgs G-1 thru G-7 (Component locations) is too big to attach to this post, sorry.

It looks like the OBDII info is in something called "Supplement 2". (see the "OBDII Codes" file) The OBDII Codes file looks to be a Table of Contents for Supplement 2.

Thank you Bill. If you want to email me the Component Locations I could host the file for others to download.

Bill,
Thanks for posting the OBDII supplement.
I've copied it and put in in my 8 manual.
THanks again.

Bob, if you look at the "OBDII Codes" file you'll see there are a lot more files/pages to the Supplement than I have. Now, where to find them?

I'm going to start a new thread called "Workshop Manual OBDII Supplement pgs" and upload these docs there. Maybe others have the rest of the pages and will add them to the thread. I will rename the "OBDII Codes" file the "Supplement 2 TOC" file.

I've added 3 more files I found on my system to the new thread.
