Default Bumperette Delete DIY: Getting Ready!

I was reading the bumperette filling DIY and wondered if technology has changed since this was written? Are there new products on the market now that are better than the SEM Plastic Repair Material (39768)? Also listed is the Evercoat Polyester Glazing Putty (400). How is this applied? I am going to tackle this project on with my new turbo bumper and want to make sure this is the best procedure.

I was actually thinking of putting new silly putty bumperettes on my ride! better than those unsightly black ones!
