Agreed! I think its great that there are companies who still make products for our cars. I don't track my car so the HP claims don't mean squat to me. The car has enough to keep a smile on my face as it is. So far, I've been really happy with their products and my dealings with the staff. So, no complaints here.

Hi Guys, sorry for response that I made. Yes the 964 and 993 exhaust systems are totally different and make different power. I meant to say that the Header muffler kit fits both cars and on the 964 it made the 20+ HP because it converted it from a single outlet heat exchanger to a dual outlet which made the big horsepower increase. On the 993, it would replace the stock headers with our larger primary tubes and F1 Indy car style merge collectors for better exhaust flow, it would eliminate the 2 sets of OEM 500 Cell catalytic converters and also use a better flowing muffler for the increased horsepower. So I apologize for that.

Thanks to everyone who using our products and I appreciate the feedback. We will soon be releasing our X Pipe Sport Cats for all the 993 cars to replace the stock cats for more power and better sound. I will be making a post about it so make sure to check that out.
Thanks,

jdistefa, PM Sent.

Sorry Alex, perhaps your heart is in the right place, but would it be so hard to post dyno numbers on a stock 3.6 993, which is what 99% of us on here have?

With all the distortions and half-truths, I'm wondering if the FAB is Fabspeed doesn't stand for Fabricated Absolute Bull****.

I am sure they have plenty of dyno charts for a stock motor v.s. same motor with different models of their exhaust...the question is will they post them?

I would suggest it would HELP your business to post them...even if they show no power increase because then you would gain credibility.

However, what if they show a loss?

I wonder how many were thinking that but didn't post it.

We have not had a change to Dyno test a stock 993 with our header muffler kit so I do not have any results. If someone in the philadelphia area is interested in getting the setup done here at Fabspeed, I will offer you a really good price on the Kit and on the installation. We also be able to dyno test the car here and post the results. PM or email me if anyone here is interested.
Thanks,

Alex,

Can you please explain how you offer a kit for the 993 and claim the power increases if you've never actually done a test to see what it produces? The thread you started has the title "Another Header Muffler Kit Install on a 993 for Ultimate Power by Fabspeed." I'm just going by your own claims. Your initial post says
This kit is designed for maximum HP and TQ
Thanks,

Ilko

Back to my original advice to Fabspeed...ditch the hp gain claims and push the sound improvement and product quality angle.

I agree, it sounds good and appears well made. I just don't like being treated like an idiot by a sales guy. I don't buy that bull****. Instead of giving it a fancy "F1 Indy car style" name, explain why it's better. Etc. etc.

They won't. How can you reinvent the wheel? Look how many have been involved with 911 exhaust development over the past 40 years. Helluva lotta work goes into making, and substantiating, products that provide real gains. If any of you guys get a chance, spend some time chatting with Mark @ SCARGO............

(Also note how the vendor wants a customer to come in and pay for the product they are being goaded into providing documentation to substantiate their claim.)

In any case, even my cousin tried to exactly replicate the 910 exhaust; I don't think it works quite right no matter what engine we've had in the car. (Gratuitous pictures attached............)

Guys,

I will dyno this setup (including before with stock headers, dach-x, and supercups).

It's not perfect given the already aftermarket setup and the 3.8 build, but at least it will be a start

Perhaps Gasser will have some dyno numbers as well...?

I never posted Dyno results with the header muffler kit on a 993 and I never claimed an actual Horsepower gain but I did say that it is designed for ultimate power which it is, because it is a better designed free flowing header than stock and also eliminates the OEM restrictive catalytic converters with a better flowing dual inlet dual outlet muffler. This system is designed to save weight and replace the stock restrictive exhaust with a better flowing one. That is why I said it was designed for Ultimate power but not too loud. But it also includes straight pipes so you can run straight out of the headers for the track.
Thanks,

OK I get it now. Ultimate power is not the same as actual horsepower. Thanks for the explanation. I never thought of going this far but you've provided me with an excellent signature material.
