Default BJ

Was watching the rerun from last years Scottsdale BJ auction when this rolled across the block. Very rare 1 of 8 Turbo Factory Steel Slantnose Targa brought into the US in 1989.
Went for a very low $46K plus premium. Thought that was a deal. Car looked immaculate. Search Porsche

I'm guessing this will go for less than $50K. Not the best venue for common-a-garden (relatively speaking) 'modern' foreign-made cars.

This gem has been discussed a few times here already. Interesting to see what she'll bring. I'll say $64K.

Some ignoramous schmuck will overpay for this car...

Dont underestimate the power of stupidity. I will up the ante to 100K. US Pesos of course :-)

B-J pricing currently favors American muscle cars. A '67 Corvette went for $87K. Much as we love our Porsches, I give this Ruf Targa $70K.

Without even knowing so much as the 'king mileage on the vehicle, who can say?

Just a thought here....If I was willing to pay $75 why wouldn't I just buy a $30k 993 and spend the $45k to modify it to my liking? At least I would know exactly what I had.

My thoughts exactly. There is also the harsh reality of not being able to recover the cost of the upgrade. So that a USD 45 k mod, would not necessarily fetch USD 45 k in the secondary market.

So deciding factor is how much this mod is worth to someone/secondary market, plus the price of the 993 Targa... IMHO

I am very curious what the final sale price will be...

Yes, when I came up with my figure, a nice Targa should fetch around 40k assuming a low miles car with working top. My guess is that the upgrades are worth no more than 50% coming up with $62.5k. But someone already guessed that so I upped to $65k.

But we do not know miles or anything on this car, so who knows.

Cheers,

Vince
