Default WTB Becker CDR220

This is a feeler post to see if anyone out there has a Becker CDR 220 that they would consider parting with. I have the Becker CDR 210 and am interested in upgrading to a factory unit that will accept an auxillary (iphone/ipod) input.

I have seen a couple on Evilbay but would rather buy from a fellow Rennlister. I also understand the the faceplate requires modification/changing so you can actually see the led lights.

I recently saw one for sale here already modified for the 993. Of course It was sold long before I saw the ad.

Looking forward to hearing from you guys

Bob, do you want to sell your CDR 210? I'm looking for a single disc player (no changer)

I have a CDR 210 I was going to put on Ebay, PM me if interested. Came out of a '97 w/ 31k mi., has the Porsche Manual and key card.

Edit: Someone has claimed the CDR-210 and 2 others are waiting if that deal falls through. Sorry

Hi James, I'm not sure about selling the CDR 210 yet. I probably will once I relace it. Is the CDR 220 a multi disc unit? I thought it was basically the same unit as the CDR 210 with auxillary input capability.

The 220 has changer capabilities which the 210 doesn't (at least I think that's right.)

CR and CDR210 can drive a changer. However, if you use the Aux / ipod function you need to use the CD changer inputs and will loose the function. You might fabricate a manual RCA signal switch and feed in an Aux signal while running it in changer mode.

No rocket science but some basic electronic skills are needed. 15 years ago I added a micro switch with Aux input into the internal casette signal path of a casette radio to run a portable CD player. I placed the master switch into the console to manually change between casette and CD (Aux).

So the CDR210 does accept ipod function (?) Just use the changer input, right? I don't want a changer and if the CDR210 also allows aux/ipod then it's perfect for me.
Thanks.

James, I pretty sure there is no auxillary function on the cdr 210. Not sure if you can use the changer interface to make it work with an ipod.

That makes sense, thanks for the info.

Bob, I'm going to go ahead and get Bill's CDR210. Hope you find a good 220; if I happen to hear of one for sale around here I'll be sure to let you know.

Hey James, I'm glad it worked out for you.

I ended up buying a 220 from air eater (Bob). Now I need to figure out how to make it all work.

Do you know if there is a power amp down stream of the HU? I would like to upgrade the amp and front speakers. Don't plan to use the rears.

There was a CDR 220 with 993 faceplate just sold here last week.

The power amp is located under the passenger seat, the rear speakers (Recently replaced) I found to fill in the sound in back, otherwise you have a dead zone.
