1985 Corvette to a 78 Porsche 911 -- the vette was a numb beast that pulled very hard, the 911 was a finely tuned machine akin to a precision watch. I've never looked back!!

The crankiest car I ever owned was a '77 BMW 320i. It had a chronic overheating problem, and a host of others, including a propensity to catch fire. And it was a beast to drive on ice. But I quite liked the car; I did most of my own wrenching in those days. Had it for about 10 years, then switched to Subarus, which have been my daily drivers ever since.

I think I feel the biggest difference when going from my Chevrolet 2500HD Duramax Crew Cab pickup to the Fiat 500. Of all the cars I've owned over the years there have been none that were anymore opposite than these two... Then going from the 500 to the 993 TT is all together different... From 18HP to 400HP+!!!!!

Well, I still own these two. Pretty big transition to hop in them one after the other. I was a Jeep guy until the last few years, when I kinda accidentally fell into Porsche...

I'll play-
1979 VW Bus --> Brand new 88 1/2 Accord LXi Coupe Automatic.
3 hour stop-and-go delay at the GW bridge one winter in the Bus w/ no heat, and its long clutch and long flexible shifter...had to make a lifestyle change...

I went from a Ford Falcon with a 200 straight 6 and a 3-on-the-tree to a Mustang GT. After I sold the mustang I had a restored 71 911 and piece of crap rusty 4 door rusty Datsun 510 as my "fowl weather" car. More recently, my wife went from a Mini Cooper S to a Volvo station wagon. The guy at the Volvo dealer was speechless when he heard what we had to trade. We have since sold the Volvo and have another Mini Cooper S.
