Which is why I manually close the latch with my thumb when I have the engine and/or trunk lid open to do work...like right now with the battery on a slow charge.

Note that it takes about 20 seconds for the light to turn off due to a timer...no there is nothing wrong with the switch in the latch as I thought the first time after I manually closed the latch mechanism.

Just don't forget to release the latch before trying to close either lid.

...did not know there was a trunk light...Vincer
The two interior lights go on as well, when the trunk is open, but you can rocker these off.

I run the battery tender wire through the side of the hood / body interface, and there's enough room for the trunk lid to close.

And I've removed the trunk light bulb.

There must have been a reason why my trunk light did not work when I bought my 993. The battery was draining while they left the hood open for whatever reason.

It took some DMM testing to finally determine that someone disconnected the connector that is within the front hood near the hinge on the driver's side. You'll see a slot in the sheet metal where the connector is inserted through the hood.

You wonder why they'd do that; it's a 10 second job to take the bulb out.
