Not sure if they're a "sponsor" per se, but I have seen banner ads here in the last few days. So they do have "advertiser" status, for what that's worth. Nevertheless, the forum post does come off as a little "spammy." This announcement would be a good concept for one of their aforementioned banners. It would also make a good press release for Excellence, Pano, and the newsletters of the SoCal PCAs.

I'll put my marketing consulting invoice in the mail today....

I have to agree. I think their banner = Sponsor and they are fairly entitled to do this. Others have.

So, let me understand this. A business has posted a "free" plug here for their business. I suggest that is a bit "OT".

Now, OTOH, if this business is offering, say, a free oil/filter change to the first 20 Rennlisters that call them, then I withdraw my objection.

Not sure it's free. As I understand it only paying Sponsors can do it and not have it deleted. It's not uncommon for Sponsors to post about "deals" they have available.

So, are they going to insist that their service department do the PPI's on the cars they sell?

Personally, my chuckle at the beginning of the thread was from laughing at how expensive Truspeed's service might be, given the premium prices they often ask for their cars for sale.
