Default WTB: 993C2s, also purchase advice

Hi,

I am new to this list but a long time Porsche owner of the older (356) models. I have been interested in some time in a 993 to use as a daily driver. Some research has brought me to a late (97) c2s as my main choice. I like the look of the S body style and have been told that the 2's are easier and cheaper to maintain than the 4's. I do quite a bit of work on my 356's myself and would probably try and do the same where possible on the 993.

First question, I am right in picking the 2 above the 4? and are there things I should look for while buying a car?

Second question, does anybody have a nice C2s for sale or know of one? I prefer a stick and a mid milage car.

Many thanks,

JK

Welcome
A 2 is lighter than a 4 but a 4 offers rock solid stability in the rain. I prefer the lighter, more nimble 2...feels right.
There is a really nice white for sale (white over black) for about 40K with 60-65K miles on Rennlist forum. Im not sure if it still for sale but it looks like a very very nice car...Good luck and let us know your progress!

Wow, great car and a great color, sadly a little more $$ than I have budgetted.

With the huge premiums wide bodies command these days, why not a NB993? They are the same except for those hips. Narrow bodies are actually faster.
If it were today, PAG would probably bring out the wide body first and then charge more for the NB due to weight savings.
