Is replacing the bolts necessary? I'm getting ready to replace my uppers and lowers due to leaks and since I've only got one shot at this I want to do it right. I've already got all the necessary parts, but didn't think to order bolts.

Not necessary to replace bolts. However, I worked a few bolts over when I got them out.
I would get a few just in case.

In conjunction with valve covers has anyone done the timing chain covers with the motor in the car? Mine are leaking and I don't know if they just need to be tightened up from years of running, but that's never really worked for me in the past. I did a search before Christmas, but didn't get anything back. Advice would be much appreciated.

Replacing the bolts is cheap insurance. I paid 44 cents apiece at Sunset. 900-067-238-02
A stripped bolt would be nasty to extract.

For the timing chain cover leaks, I was not able to replace the gasket but I did stop my leaks by replacing the rubber grommets. $1.76 each from Sunset. 964-105-140-01

From my recent service experience, MWR provided 993 engine work which did not meet my expectations. I will not return to MWR.

PM sent.
