Good advice..Many, many years ago, my dad gave me some good advice: If you see a tanker truck delivering at the station, pass it by. The new load dumped into storage tanks that are low will stir up the sediment and water that has settled on the bottom.

+993. I never go to a station when it's being resupplied.

Also, a perfectly good DMF can cause a misfire code .... if you badly stall the car on a hill when letting the clutch out: wanna ask me how I know . So, have you stalled your car recently before catching the CEL?

A bad stall really 'torques up' the two sections of the DMF , which briefly changes the apparent crank centerline wrt the TDC sensor in the bell housing .... telling the DME that firing did not occur at the correct time/position ....

The cure is quite simple!

Could be a bunch of stuff. FWIW I have experienced those codes from arcing plug wires. Also after rain/washing from moisture in worn out caps and rotors.

New wires/caps/rotors sorted it all out for me.

Cleared the codes. Filled the tank and added Techron.

Drove for a bout an hour. Nothing so far..

FYI the car drives just fine. Nothing noticeable in terms of performance related to the CEL

Smile You are in SoCal...

...we saw on the Board a while back, that Otto's in Venice, and Hergesheimer's in Lake Forest have had success clearing the CEL code. Callas Rennsport in Torrance is another great shop.
