Adding LSD to a 993
Hi Everyone,
My C2 did not come with LSD or ABD (option M224). I would like to add a LSD to my 96 993 C2 NB. In the Porsche 993 The Essential Companion on page 241 there is mention on ABD working with LSD; saying that LSD is required for ABD.
Questions...
1. Does the OBD2 need to updated to accommodate LSD?
2. How much does is cost (appox) to rebuild a LSD (only rebuild not including R&R)
As I am a newbie, I appreciate your input and apologize if I am asking silly questions.

The only silly questions are the ones not asked.
In short, you can add LSD w/o needing ABD or programming changes to the ECU. Assuming you locate a used LSD, a rebuild should run about $750. Or you can buy a higher quality Porsche Motorsport LSD or aftermarket unit.
