Low milage garage queens are a curse, I have been there.

I am also looking for the same thing. It is hard to jump when reading about some of the deals around here in the last couple months.

My last 993 took over a year to find, maybe think of a easy car to get in and out of till you find the right one.

Well I am looking at E36 M3 sedans too, knowing that I could also use it as a fun daily driver and then use the 993 for week-end and DE events when I find one. However, unmolested M3s are as hard to find !!!
I guess I should settle for a Camry or Accord, yuck.

Wow, very nice rare car. Bought from, and then sold to, the same Porsche dealer. They have all the service records (that was the same with my car; the owner bought it from the dealer and traded it in for a new 997. I'm the second owner.)

Somebody was smart hitting the buy-it-now button. If I were looking I would have done the same contingent on a ppi.

Sorry Renaud, that was unfortunate for you. But another good car will come along eventually.

Very tough! When I was looking for a DD last year I looked for an unmolested M3 for a long time. I came up empty, but stumbled across a beautiful 1-owner 328is/sport which I ended up buying. Not quite an M3, but a pretty nice grocery-getter nonetheless. Don't discount them...

Not stupid in my book, who really knows the condition of this car based on an ebay ad? I'd personally never buy a car site unseen, even pending a PPI.

I know in the internet age there are lots of people buying site unseen and have good luck, but I need to see the car, touch it, crawl under it, smell it, drive it. I find that even good intentioned sellers can have very different opnions about how to rate a car's condition. When I was looking for mine, I looked at a 23k mile car that was described as near perfect (but was very, very rough), and I looked at a 60k mile car described as 'clean' where the car was basically immaculate.

Be patient, but be ready to pull the trigger when one speaks to you.

--> Agreed ! <---
I think for what you want... you are putting too much pressure on yourself. Time to buy a pos $5,000 car so you can sell off the boxster properly, and "motivate" yourself to get out of the pos and into a 993.

Yeah, this one wasn't meant to be or you would have gotten it. Everything happens for a reason. Be patient, though that's hard.

Default Looks nice

Appears to be a nice car. Mirrors & door handles definitely an owner mod. Not a "stone grey" interior, it's the standard classic grey with pink-tinted carpets.

I'm kicking myself for not looking closer last night when I saw the ad...it would have been mine if I would have noticed the buy it now. Just showed the wife and even she gave me grief for losing out on this one!

As already mentioned on this thread, apparently it was a factory option.

Here's another one: http://www.club911.net/viewthread.php?tid=85529

The owner describes the door handles, mirrors, and grille:
"Couleur Vésuvio, avec les poignées de porte, les rétros et la grille "2S" du moteur d'une couleur spéciale du genre gris titane"

Yes it was a boy racer that spray painted the trim. When the car was at Porsche they must of been switching from purple to black and forgot to clean the system. Everyone please redirect your attention to Riviera blue, untill the avatar to the left is a Vesuvio one.

Does anyone know the significance of the two-tone colors? There must be a story behind why Porshce did this????????????
