I blew a rear tire with about 2,000 miles on it. both rears were brand new this summer. can I still get away with just replacing the blown tire or should I replace both and keep the good one as a spare?

I had the same problem; the car was on Pss9's and lowered considerably (RS height). I tried a single tire... no worky.
Then put on a pair of new ones and voila! Car handled terribly though there was little mileage on the remaining good tire.

I would think you would be fine with the same brand and type tire unless you really drove a hard 2,000 miles and wore that tread out fast.
