Thanks for the comments everyone. Always loved the LMs but I prefer a more monoblock look and that's why I went with the RE.

The picture above of the black 993 is gorgeous but those wheels have a price tag of close to $5k which is ridiculous to me considering the wheel manufacturer has no motorsport background which then is hard to assess its quality and durability. I do love the styling and if it was available at a price closer to my budget, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Keep the comments coming!

Try these. I Photoshopped out the centercaps of some of them.

No No No! Just my opinion which really is not worth much but the car looks spectacular as is and those wheels will detract from that look.

I would take 2 rims out of their boxes and just put them against your existing rims in the garage. Then take another picture of the side of the car.
That might give all of us a better idea of what the car could look like.

You have to be 100% about them.

The wheels in and of themselves are beautiful.

If you dont like it, dont convince yourself of it. You will just be disapointed down the line.

Do what CAPTAINGSR suggested...... take a pic from the side with the wheels positioned in front of the existing wheels and post a pic.

But, do you really care what we all think about the wheels? What matters is what you think.

Lot's of opinion, I OWNED a set of these on my previous car, they were my track rims

Here's what I think

pros
very light = great handling
nearly indestructible
BBS bling
great big brake clearance
not made any more- collectible?

cons
probably bbs ugliest wheel IMHO
pita to clean (but hey all bbs are)

The main reason you ask, is because deep down inside you are not sold on how they look.

My opinion...they are terrible looking....alot of replies like them because they are BBS..if the center cap said Rota, Axxis, Konig etc...I bet there would be more thumbs down.

Not doing it for me. They're okay but not my cup of tea. I think if you're having doubts, you need to listen to that little voice and hold off.

A few comments:

IMHO, the lightest weight wheels for 993's are totally overrated. Light weight wheels for the street will not net you anything in terms of street performance that you will be able to quantify. Light weight wheels on the track are, on paper, supposed to be "faster", but IME, heavy wheels can do just fine and can yield extremely fast lap times. The downside to light weight wheels is that they can be fragile and are easily cracked.

regarding brake clearance, you don't need much. All BBS wheels that are designed for 993's are supposed to be able to clear big reds brake calipers, at least as far as I understand it.

IMHO, RSGTs are the nicest BBS wheels for the 993. LMs are a very close second.

It's really a shame that they don't make the LM-R in an 18" because those would look magnifique on a 993 .

When there is a doubt, there is no doubt!

Unless you got a killer deal on them of course, then it's another story...
But, to pay full price, and not even be fully wowed every time you look at the car... What a waste!

I usually don't like the BBS REs, but I happen to love the color you chose. It would be sweet on a white car like mine. Unfortunately, it is very hard to tell from these pictures if the Black Diamond really goes with the color of your car. You picked a tough color combo!

If you like the color, but are disappointed by the design of the rims, then I would return them ASAP. For me, rims with deeper or taller lips, look much better on NB 993s and most NB 911s anyways.

Cheers,
