Talking Replaced My Spoiler Wall Today

Ok so here's the story. I was over at LARPY's house on Thanksgiving day for a quick get together. Yosemite Sam, er um Jim was showing off his new to him 993. At one point we all put our spoilers up for a photo op. At that point the Bald eagle eye LARPY discovered Jim's spoiler wall was wasted and mine was held together with black duct tape. He proceeded to publicly humiliate me. I did not know really.

So I ordered the part from Sunset. $83 + 7 shipping. Not bad.

Today I got a few minutes away from C-shopping a went for the install. I used this DIY.

http://www.pcarworkshop.com/index.ph...a_Spoiler_Wall

Thank you P-car Workshop!

The install is pretty easy. I rate it at about a 2-3 on the 10 scale. It took about 30 minutes total including cleaning up the underside of the spoiler. And for those of you that care and have difficulty sleeping at night because of dirt and cosmoline..... it was nasty under there.

Again, I am amazed how these cars can be taken apart and put back together just like a jigsaw puzzle.

Sorry if I am boring you guys with my babble and this crap. It's just fun to share.

For the new owner, Yosemite Sam, this is entirely acceptable. As you have now had yours for quite some time Bob, this is truly disappointing to hear.

Kidding aside, I did both my cars this past spring and the new piece freshens the appearance when the lil spoiler is up.

Awesome! Looks great!

It seems that you followed Robin's DIY. I hate to tell you this, but you didn't have to remove the spoiler, or turn a single bolt.

The spoiler wall can be replaced in about 5 minutes and no tools are required. The whole thing just snaps and slide in place in the 2 spoiler tubes.

I have replaced mine twice in the past 5 years. They break often. I check it every time I wash the car.

Nice work. I replaced mine in June when I was trying to 'fix' my noisy spoiler assembly. When I lifted the spoiler and looked at the wall for the first time, I discovered it was torn about a third of the way across. It's like discovering you have a big rip in your underwear at the doctors office, except 1000's of people have seen it flayling in the wind on the freeway ....

Hey CAB, I figured that out just about the time I finished it up. I said to myself "now why did I just take that all apart?"

Oh well, live and learn. I did need to get it detailed under there.

The bad news is that I think it's a biennial event. Mine is starting to look like it's going to crack on the ends. I replaced it about a year ago.

Very true. I changed the one on the Cab twice without removing it. But still, it worked and looks great. Nothing bettter than a DIY project.

Well there's always duct tape. Not that I would condone that.

Back in March when I got the car I figured mine was due for replacement soon, it was quite brittle. But I've detailed it a couple times and doused it liberally with Aerospace 303 and it's held up so far.
