It appears that they at least wrapped the entire car in plastic food wrap before smearing on the chocolate.

... but with a crunchy center.

 

Thank God it's chocolate ..... that wasn't my first guess when seeing the pics ....

As a work of art for $250K this is pretty sorry, but I can see it as a cool way for some wealthy family to celebrate their little daughter's sweet sixteen, or perhaps a gift at a large, weathy weddding. All the guests could break off peices and eat them to help unwrap the gift. Of course, we're looking at a heck of a lot of chocolate there!
