Default Cab top dash warning light

Hi all. The inevitable cab top gremlins finally appeared for my ROW 95 993. Who was I that dared to think "nah..... wont happen to me"

I’ve sorted most issues out – reflowed the solder joints on the pin connectors to the control unit, readjusted the micro switches and readjusted the windscreen latch strikers and finally got the top to function as it should but I cant figure out how or what extinguishes the “cab top open” dash warning light when it’s closed. The light does go out when the top is fully open but remains on when fully closed.

I’ve got Steather’s book and he doesnt say how many but so far I have found 5 micro switches:
2 that activate the latch motors,
2 more down either side of the transmission that activate the two rear cab top motors,
1 on the handbrake. (is there any more ?)

Streather (on page 418) talks about “closed position micro switches on either side of the transmission” and “Locked position micro switches” Can anybody please assist me with identifying the “Locked Position” micro switches that signal the dash light to extinguish itself ?

Thanks guys, this has got me stumped.
Sean.

Check with a code reader, if there it actually put a code in the log. Reset it and see if it still comes back afterwards.
It might be that the light is still on because the ECU doesn't know that it's actually been fixed.
Just a thought.
Good luck.

my cab light flickers when i hit a hard bump , and when it goes off i cant open the top[unlatch] and when it goes on i hear a clunk[ when parked] up under the dash= relay contact then the unlocking motors work. My light is therefore traceable to the ecu,[ which needs a solder job]
