Offer to pick it up in person with a cashiers check... they'll run! Looks identical to a response my sister had me look at when she was buying a car, and that one turned out to be a scam.

I got the same response when I responded to the Nashville Craigslist ad yesterday. Saw it on Atlanta CL today.

This scam is so old. They will ask you for your name and shipping address. They will tell you its already at the shipper and the shipping is paid for. They will want to use "ebay". .... You'll get an emai which looks 100% like its from Ebay and you'll wire the money to where ever that ebay email says and that will be the end of the transaction. The eBay email is a spoof and a good one and it looks like the real deal but its not. eBay is not in the business of getting involved in transaction outside eBay and they have no such buyers service.

I figured it was a scam with the whole EBAY deal. Figure if we can expose this kind of stuff to the RL community, we'll all be better off. Now, to continue the search...

Thought I would have some fun. Here is an email thread:

Hi again,
The car is at the shipping company, sealed and ready for shipping.I have a contract with eBay so this deal must go through them.According with eBay you have 5 days from the time you receive the car to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not.
Here is how it will work:
First of all I will need the following details from you:full name, full shipping address. After I will receive the details from you,I will forward them to eBay.After they will process your info, they will send us both invoices. The invoice will send you the details on how to make a refundable payment.eBay will contact me and I will ship the car to you. After you receive the car you will have 5 days to test, verify and do whatever you want with the car.If you will buy it,then I will receive the payment details from eBay so that I can pick up the money.
If you will decide that you will not buy the car,eBay will refund the money and I will have the shipping company come pick up my car.If you wish to make the transaction, please send me the necessary info so that we can proceed.I look forward to hear from you.
Thank you!

You'd think that someone with a 95 Porsche 993 could use correct English grammar and punctuation. That tends to be my first clue.
