well, there is a really good web site that has a listing tool... I don't have it here but can post later.

or if jmarch sees this he is the one that sent it to me when we were getting him some OE parts for his BMW last week.

i'd bet someone else here knows of it too... I am not aware of an offline tool.

In addition to the nice online version at www.realoem.com, you'll also be able to find older versions of BMW's version of the PET (called the ETK) at your usual file download-type places. It's a software application, with a CD that runs on a Windows machine.

All in all, it works and has exploding diagrams of all old model year BMW's.

There is also another version of the same software for their troubleshooting manual, called the ETM.

Roughly 5 years ago, all of this information, especially for newer models, has moved online (with access for a fee--boo). http://www.bmwtechinfo.com/

For OE BMW parts at discount prices I use www.getbmwparts.com , it's Tischer BMW in VA I think. Online parts catalog is fair, can be tough to find a part at times.
