Default DC/MD/VA guys: Where do you take your car for service?

Who, in the area, knows the 993 best?

Initial research seems to point to TPC as the go-to shop. Thoughts?

I have no idea on the quality of their work. I have priced them out on a few things and the sticker shock steered me away.

Where in DC are you? ASG is a good shop, as is the very well-respected Taylor Chapman, formerly of ASG (and, briefly, IMA Motorsports).

Try Funktion Auto near Dulles airport - get Kevin to do the work. The shop is car owner friendly - no problem getting out on the shop floor to watch the guys work and it has the best waiting lounge I have seen. Here the link to the site - www.funktionauto.com.

I despise driving to Virginia for anything. That said, I still drive 35 miles to bring my car to Taylor Chapman. Why oh why can't there be a great Porsche repair place in Rockville or Gaithersburg MD?!? I have tried all the local indies and I had problems at each one of them which is why I drive, to a place I don't want to go - Springfield VA!

I believe you will be very pleased with Taylor Chapman. He provides a level of personal service that is difficult to match.
Good Luck,
Neil

A terrific P-car mechanic is Matt DeMaria of Stuttgart Performance in olde towne Gaithersburg. The downside is that his shop is small, and all work is done by appt. But he knows his stuff, especially on the older cars, and has figured out problems others couldn't. http://www.stuttgartperformanceengineering.com/

Another vote for German Auto Group and Taylor. I recently switched to his shop due to the fact my local unnamed mechanic takes way to long to do even basic work. Taylor's customer service and attention to detail are outstanding. Even though his shop is not convenient for me location wise, and it is worth the drive.
