Default jdistefa, your time has come!

I've been spending available evening hours over the last few weeks creating two one-off clocks for a couple of Rennlist hooligans. My experience for such an engineering tour de force comes from this wackiness....

I'm still waiting on parts for the second clock (built within a 993 fan), so I figured it was appropriate to post a few pics of what's headed to Canada tomorrow.

For reference, I purchased a 10+ lb chunk of rough-cut Indonesian Amboyna wood. Once cut to size, I bored out a hole for the clock. An hour of sanding with various grits brought out the magnificent burl. It's protected with multiple applications of teak oil.

The rear is a plate of 16g sheet metal, held in place with four stainless socket head bolts (Matt may wish to dust inside the clock from time to time).

Enjoy...

No no no... get yer mind out of the gutter AOW

Seriously. My home shop was originally 1400 sq ft of wood shop. The cars have taken over some space but I really enjoy furniture making. A life long hobby.

Mark,
My fine woodworking skills are on par with those of a blind logger...

(No disrespect meant towards the blind, or individuals employed within the logging industry.)
