...and this one looks like lots of fun.
Now seriously, I just got an E63, and these AMG 63's are truly fun cars to drive.
They may have been testing the drivetrain in a viper chassis (hence the looks, and the pics of the car in the desert were a viper)...... Its been done before where manufacturers put components of other vehicles in their own or visa versa.
Porsche even did it with NSX Brakes etc on a 964.....
Conversly maybe they are using the viper platform for the new car. They are not the prettiest cars around but they sure do perform, especially the ACR.

It's not a viper platform, it's an all new platform developed by AMG. The link provided gives a nice amount of detail.
It will be well north of $150k, much more likely in the low 200's. An SL63 is over $150k when properly optioned (with the one that counts).

I'm sure it will be a great performer, but I just can't find a line on the car that I really like. The proportions just seem odd to me. I know others love it..
Wouldn't it be better just to get one of these?
