Panamera vs 993
Trending Topics
Funny how the 996/997 do not look like large cars to me ...until they are parked next to a 993!! (hey, someone post a comparo pic, would ya? ...love those
).
Let's face it: our cars are small. Firmly rooted to the first incarnation of the 911, ours are tiny by today's standards where all but the minis and smarts seem larger in every dimension. No point to this ...just an idle observation on my time off

As ugly as it is, I'd still consider Panamera if I was shopping for a $90K sedan, altough I'd probably cheap out with a (pre- or) post-Bangle CPO 7 series.
I like 911s, but I'm not the "Porsche-loyal" buyer they're counting on.

It's so big!
Have you guys seen the numbers on the Panamera Turbo though? 911 Turboesque speed with 4 seats! The styling is just weird at the back but maybe we should look at it a little differently. The car truly stands out from an E63 or XFR, and the interior is gorgeous. Porsche tried, and most definitely succeeded, to make the car distinctive and deserves credit for trying something different. I know the first time I saw pics of the Panamera the only repeatable word to come out of my mouth was UGLY. Many months later and seeing it in different colours/spec etc. I find the car to be less offensive. The biggest threat to the Panamera in my view? The Maserati Quattroporte; it falls behind the Porsche in performance and sophistication but is drop dead gorgeous. These two are the choice for someone who wants something different than the standard Benz/Audi/BMW offerings.
Lastly, I'd rather they build this than the Cayenne. At least it makes a bit of sense IMO.
PS: If anyone's listening, I'll gladly try a Blk/Blk Panamera Turbo with PCCBs, 20" wheels, all the techno toys etc. to see if it's a "grower."
