Mesa, AZ. Anyone??
Gentlemen.
Anyone in or close to Mesa, AZ. that may be able to have a looksee for me?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1982-...item1c0d6eadbf
This interesting 911-993 is up for sale. It's been offered for at least 4 months with no takers.
I would be grateful for any opinions and if anybody knows something about the car.

I am in that area. I hope you realize that this is basically a 993 Turbo "replicar" on a 1982 911SC chassis. Someone on the 911 Turbo (930) Forum would probably be better qualified to evaluate it.
"Porsche 1997 993 Turbo clone, 77k original miles, built in California by Precision Porsche http://www.precisionporsche.com/ 3 years ago they took a low mile rust free 1982 911 SC, replaced all the body with OEM STEEL not fibreglass 993 Turbo body, added full 1997 turbo suspension, 993 Turbo Brembo big red Porsche calipers and drilled rotors, then a fully rebuilt 930 turbo 3.3 liter motor with SC cams, twin plug heads, Electromotive ignition system, headers with performance custom exhaust, larger race intercooler, brand new K-27 race turbo, this motor has less than 5000 miles on it and pushes out 400+ Hp. The motor alone cost $19k to build. Wow is it fast, neck snappingly quick! The exhaust is crazy with a deep throaty growl, see the attached youtube videos. Custom Speedline 19" wheels with P Zero tires 305/30/zr19. $1100 custom suede interior head liner. Interior is full leather including dash and door panels and it is in great shape. Momo steering wheel. Turbo S rear spoiler (very expensive). This is truly a high dollar custom car to duplicate with an OEM steel body would cost over $70k. The car runs great and is very solid offered at a fraction of replacement cost, a real head turner and very unique. The 993 body style is the most popular Porsche and the last of the air cooled turbos."

Tony.
Yes I am aware of that. You see if I wanted to get the real thing I would be really broke.... fast.
I am contemplating getting a an early 993 or 964/5 but this replicar could also be of interest. If it's well done ofcourse.
I would be grateful if You have the opportunity to stop by the shop.
I have given them one offer already wich reflected the replicar fact. They turned my offer down. Just by looking at the pics the car looks to be alright but as another fellow rennlister just mentioned...this might be expensive.

I spoke to the owner/dealer (Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa accent). I wanted to know how easily it could be seen. It's in his garage at home (which I'm guessing may also be his business location). He denies the fact that it has been listed for 4 months (only 2 weeks according to him). If you know for certain that is not true then that is the first RED flag other than the car itself.

Looks like Tony's doing some legwork for you....as for my opinion....keep looking...why buy this one...at this price...? I would think you'll eventually find the real thing close to this price...

Alright Tony.
When I did a search I found the car for sale 4 months ago at theese places.
http://www.inetgiant.com/AdDetails/C...-Turbo/2070931
http://www.hoobly.com/0/0/947640.html
The people in AZ may only have had the car for a short time. That means that the previous owner got rid of it pretty fast..I wonder why?
Any chance for You to stop by?

Your right Denny.
I am also looking for the 94-96 993 and the 964/5's. The only thing is that I'm intrigued by the replicar. I gave them an offer not even close to the asking price which they turned down.
I do apreciate all opinions.

Because of the distance from where I am it could only have been over the weekend. The seller is going to be in San Diego this weekend so that is out anyway. Truthfully it was only curiousity and the opportunity for a destination drive this weekend that made me even think of seeing it.
I suspect that the true story of this car is not a good one and I really wouldn't want to be a party to anyone actually purchasing it. Also, it would take a person familiar with a 930 to give you a good sense of the car itself. It has very little to do with a 993 besides looks.

Hello Gino.
That would be great if You could swing by to have a look.
I'm not expecting anything either way about the car. I'm just curious to see if it is in one piece and looks to be ok.
Ofcourse when it comes to rebuilds I am fully aware of just that..a rebuild.
Tony. I appreciate that You made the contact with the guy in Chandler.
As I previously mentioned...all inputs are good.
It's snowing here today
Enjoy,
Geir
