Default Wheel fitment question

All:

I bought a set of 16" Boxster rims for mounting snow tires on my '96 Carrera 4. The fronts are 50mm offset, 6" wide. I mounted one tonight and it rubs on the brake caliper.

Questions:

1) Did Porsche make a rim in the style shown in photo at left in an offset that will work?

2) Will a 2mm spacer help?

3) Any other thoughts?

Note: Rears seem to fit fine.

Thanks in advance,

Paul.

nile13 had the same question in an old thread, no answer there though, unfortunately, maybe try PM'ing him?

Try mounting the 'rears' to the front. I bet they will work well, and that way you'd only need one size tire all the way around, too. Of course then you'd need to find another set of rear wheels and lose the fronts and possibly have to swap 2 tires.

You could always sell the set you have and go for a set of the original 16's, whatever they're called:

Some small spacers up front to make what you have work would seem to be the best solution.

That pic really brings out the "Polar" on your MY02's. Nice!

Jason:

Thanks for the help. Probably going to order some spacers.

I'll let you know how it works out.

Paul.
