Default Anyone use these for phone/navigation mounting?

These are products from a company called ProClips. They make a clip for the 993 that mounts to the center dash vents. Anybody here have/use one? I'd like to get some user feedback before buying one.

It looks like the clip would block at least some airflow. The user feedback on their site is great, though. Users say they are rock-solid and install/remove in seconds with no mod's/damage to the dash.

I don't use that particular clip, but I have a vent clip for my GPS. because of the particular angle, I actually mount it upside down for it to give me the best viewing angle. It does block air flow, a little. The mounting of the clips is not as solid as the suction cup, but it does work.

I wouldn not agree with the "rock solid" statement, but it doesn't need to be either.

Thanks for the input. I'm trying to avoid using an 'adhesive backed mounting disk' on the dash which I've never used either, because I'm paranoid about damaging the dash material where it sticks on. Anyone have experience with using one?

I use this clip. It actually attaches to the dash over the vent. There is an adhesive tape strip to keep it from sliding around. I have not exposed the tape yet. It works pretty well. I use it with the iPhone. The viewing angle is not perfect, but not trrible either.

Hey Bob,
Thanks for chiming in! So, it clips over the entire bolster on the front of the dash? Do you place it to the right of the center vents? I know this is a lot to ask, but do you have any cel-phone snaps you could post?

these are 2 part mounts - one part is car specific and the other is phone/device specific. I use just the device part of the pair for an iPhone and mounted it to the Batphone (factory 993 option) panel.

Ah, Bruce, I see you have the notorious 'Batphone' center console. That adds a lot of real estate to play with ....

Yep, and I'm doing just the opposite. Just using the car-specific clip and hopefully attaching a TomTom iPhone cradle to it.

I have the 993 vent version. It's OK. It does block the vent. It doesn't look particularly good.

If you want to mount your GPS, how about using the sucker on the face of the clock/

Ditto. Does the job, does block some air flow but doesn't bother me at all.

Hi JP, sorry man, no pics now I am away from home. It clips over the entire bolster. I use Velcro to attach the phone. It does block some air flow, but it's not like the car has a great hvac system anyway.

I've always used Kuda mounts, they do make one for a 993:
