Is there a free site that gives you a build sheet for any car or do you have to go to the manufacturer/dealer for this?

AFAIK the Porsche Birth Certificate is the only one that shows everything. You can get it from a dealer or www.pcna.com

Actually Suncoast Porsche provided me with one, they had a link on their web site that had you provide your VIN and they sent this back'. (Format is kind of screwed up in the copy/paste). Maybe other dealers can do the same.
