Sunroofs are heavy and raise the center of gravity making a car less stable. Sunroofs are nice but not ideal for sports cars that will see spirited driving or track. Non-sunroof 993s are rare and extremely desirable and sought after for this reason.

Not being much of a racer, would not have thought of the CG and weight issue...good point!

my DD is also an o4 mini S. been great but the 993 spoils me. my only complaint is the gear box. just not as smooth as I would like. the S is definitely the way to go....

The turbos came out in 2007. My wife bought an S new. We special ordered it. The base price on an S was $20,500. By the time we added all the options we were over $35K plus tax and license. The first week we dumped the rum flats and dropped it with Mach V springs. Very stiff ride!
