Default Fabspeed Chip

Does anyone out there have experience with the Fabspeed ECU chip? My 97 C2S is about to get a Guard LSD, light weight flywheel and RS clutch. I purchased the Fabspeed chip last week and the ECU will be sent to Fabspeed while the car is in the shop. Just thought I'd see what others think. Fabspeed says hp increases from 282 to 299 and torque from 250 to 268. Any thoughts would be helpful.

What octane gas will be required? In Cali all we can get on the street is 91 Octane, We can buy 100 octane and blend it up as desired....100 octane is $7.00 a gallon, sometimes more, ouch.

Fabspeed are good people in my estimation, They have been around for years..thay tells you something. Joe Fabiani has been very gracious to me.

Fabspeed says 91 octane is required. 93 is available in Texas, so I'm not concerned about that. I went with Fabspeed based on reputation and it's good to hear you echo that.

A '97 does not have a chip to change, you re-flash the ECU. The '95 is the only 993 where you can simply swap a chip.

That explains why I have to send the ECU to Fabspeed instead of simply plugging in a new chip. Thanks!

I would also encourage you to strongly consider sending your ecu to Steve Weiner @ Rennsport systems. No affiliation other than as a very satisfied customer.
