Bob-
Thanks for the vote..... I think I will paint the base.

I was going to use a power adapter of some kind.... Still in the planning stages.

Powdercoat them GR, harder finish and will be more durable. I have a pair of seats that I should set up similarly, they could be my guest seats at the office.

Thats a great idea, I was wondering if painting them would hold up.... They do make great office chairs...

Looking at the picture at the top, your list misses model cars and baseball hats.

Yeh that too. I think I have over 300 baseball hats and about 30 Porsche models.

That's wicked. I don't remember anyone else ever converting our seats to actual office chairs. Personally, I couldn't have an office chair that I sit in all day without arm rests. Is there anyway you could incorporate arm rests into this design or would it be too hard and not worth the trouble? I rest my arms on the arm rest for much of the day in one way or another.

Guards red would definitely make for a BRIGHT base! I like the toned down effect of the silver base you have, but that's just me.

Actually, this DOES look pretty good...from Racechairs, Performance Furniture

Good show!
