Sticking Throttle any simple fixes?
For some reason, the throttle (or one of its many components) sticks, but only when coming off the throttle. The throttle itself does not stick but the RPM's hang up at a particular level instead of dropping back to idle. Not good when trying to come to a stop. If I blip the throttle it seems to free the RPM's from that particular stuck level and the revs will drop back to normal(idle). This happens two or three times in a 10 to 15 minute period. It is not the floor mat and nothing is hanging up the actual throttle itself. Any simple fixes?

Bringing this back from the dead posts as I am experiencing the same thing. It seems to hang around 3K rpm and fees unsafe before stops or turns. Have searched all over and found no fix yet.
- no pedal obstruction
- cleaned/lubricated pedal cluster
- cleaned Idle Control Valve
- throttle cable moves smoothly on both ends.

If you disconnect throttle cable from the pedal (pop out the ball connector), does the pedal move up and down smoothly or does it stick?
Are you sure the pedal is not returning to the "up" (ie foot off) position? If so, really can only think of 3 or 4 places it could be sticking:
pedal
cable
throttle body (butterfly valves) (+1 Shadow993)
connector rod from cruise control (maybe it snags somewhere)
Hopefully you can narrow down by elimination, interested to know what you find.

Thanks guys. Since the Idle Valve Control was loaded with dirt/carbon, perhaps the throttle body is dirty. I guess a little more disassembly to check it out. That should be a fun project.
