Default MO33 lowering springs "White" or "Lilac"?

I am looking at lowering my 993 C2S to Euro specs (now stock). Sunset told me there are 2 kinds available: White or Lilac... what is the diff? Any other suppliers?

I cannot post pictures of my stock 993... I get some "noise" from some of you Lister:-(

Advice appreciated!

Bert

RoW M030 was the sport height, RoW M033 was the sport height w/ comfort springs

so it depends on what you want to drive away w/
M030 fronts are
965.343.531.01 marked orange & green

M033 fronts are
993.343.531.04 marked blue

M030 rears are
993.333.531.11 marked brown

M033 rears are
993.333.531.21 marked white
or interchangeably
993.333.531.22 marked lilac

In theory, the lilac springs are for 993's w/o air or those with Tiptronic. Something about compensating for weight differences. IMHO, so slight as to be inconsequential.

there are two kits:

000.044.500.00 with white springs for normal carrera
000.044.500.01 with lilac springs for options M249 + M573 (tiptronic + A/C)

if you are lowering your car, there is a catch if you haven't read the forum thoroughly.
the struts and springs if bought part by part are well above $1000
whilst the kits above including struts AND springs run between $600 - $700 from dealer
take care, regards

Okay, since I have done all (done some though) forum research for lowering my -new to me- 993 Turbo I will need to ask what springs you get from the Porsche dealer and what shocks? Stock Monroe shocks and OEM ROW springs? Just wondering as I am one that is looking at just getting the Bistein HD shocks and springs elsewhere....later whose total will be higher the the price you quoted for lowering springs and shocks from the dealer. it is tough to be a newbie!

IMHO you're better off going with Bilstein PSS-10 or KW-v3 coilover rather than the seperate factory spring and shock setup. Once you factor in costs for install and alignment, the difference in total costs in percentage terms is not that much and having the flexibility of 3 way adjustable suspension is a bonus even if you don't track/race your car....IMHO

Rennlisters,

Following the information on this thread, I tried to order the kit as suggested by geolab:
-the 000.044.500.01 is not available here in Calgary, Canada at the Porsche dealer, so I contacted Sunset Imports and got a note back from Jeff Clark. He also said that this kit has to be a special order, so it went nowhere!

Now he suggested the 00 Kit is readily available, and according to geolab it is for a normal 993.

This is the question for Bill Verburg:" what exactly is the 00 kit ? Is that indeed a RoW MO30 or MO33 "lowering kit"?

Any enlightenment sincerely appreciated!!!

Cheers from up here,

Bert

I purchased the MO33 kit from Sunset this past Winter. The springs they supplied are lilac. The whole set up is just slightly stiffer than the oem set up that I had with 60,000 miles. Lowered the car about 3/4 of and inch.
