Default Carbon Fiber Center Console or just repair?

I have seen a few pictures from fellow members that have a Carbon Fiber center console. Does anyone know where I can find one? I noticed a tiny tear in my grey center console right where it folds over into the parking brake tray. I either need to repair this tear, recover or replace this center console with the same, or while it is removed spend even more money on a very cool mod. Advice on any of these options would be appreciated.

I don't like CF (covered) interior parts, I prefer black leather on all interior parts. How bad is the tear?

The cut is very small, about the length of a finger nail. I would be happy with just being able to fix the small cut. But if that is not possible and I have to recover the entire center console, I would love some suggestions on how to improve it.

I assume you have the vinyl covering and not leather. I've used the vinyl patch kit that you can find at most McParts stores and it actually works very well. I used it on a hole in the rear seat of my MBZ and it looked like new and held up very well. The hard part is getting the color match right. Since your tear is so small you might get away with a less than perfect job. Regardless if your alternative is to recover it then this is certainly worth a try.

JMHO but I'd second the skip the CF vote, especially if you aren't going to also do the shift **** and handbrake in CF.

Recovering the center console is a pretty easy DIY if you want to go down that path. OEM leather or vinyl is available from a variety of places, I've uesd Autos International in Escondido Ca. Would think they can sell you the material then it a snip and glue job. Check them out on the web if that's of interest.

I've done this using leather when I changed the color from tan vinyl to black leather. I bot from Veteran Co. in Los Angeles and have posted pics previously. It's a fairly easy DIY if you are patient. The result though will not be identical to the factory leather as the factory has visible stitching.
